Akira Minagawa is a detail oriented textile and clothes designer with a fundamental grasp of the craftsmanship required in textile production, weaving, printing and embroidery.

He has his own design company and is famous for his minä perhonen clothes label, which is characterised by its feminine, romantic style.

In 2006, Minagawa was awarded Designer of the Year by the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun.
