Alexander Girard

Alexander Girard is one of the 20th century's most influential modernist designers and architects. He achieved prominence as director of Herman Miller's textile division from 1952 through the 1960s. His attention to tone, texture, and pattern were translated into vivid fabrics that emphasized strong forms and bold colors.

Maharam re-issued Alexander Girard's Checker, Checker Split, Double Triangles, Jacobs Coat, Mikado, Millerstripe, Quatrefoil and Toostripe as part of the Textiles of the 20th Century Collection.
