Dyson's new Flagship Store in New York's Soho represents a thoughtful fusion of cutting-edge technology and storied history. The space integrates a Kvadrat Acoustic solution that creates a sleek black ceiling and meets the aural challenge of customers testing different appliances at the same time.

The solution delivers the aesthetic excellence and contemporary expression required by Dyson. Specified in the main retail space and private offices, it comprises Soft Cells Broadline acoustic panels upholstered in Field suspended with magnets from the ceiling.

In addition to supporting aural and visual comfort, and elevating customer interactions, the Soft Cells acoustic panels seamlessly integrate lighting and sprinklers. Furthermore, the frames are made from 82% recycled aluminium while their acoustic core consists of 64% recycled mineral wool.

"It would be hard to find another product that looks so appealing and works at such a high level. The experience of working with the Kvadrat team was, from beginning to end, extremely professional. The team understood our goals from the outset and worked closely with us as well as the lighting team, including both the designer and the vendor. The installation looks like it did the day it was installed."

Jean-Gabriel Neukomm, Principal at JG Neukomm Architecture.

The flagship location connects various display areas and interactive stations, creating a dynamic retail environment that encourages engagement with Dyson's innovative products. For instance, beauty counters with built-in mirrors provide a place to try out hair products while wall displays offer a scale of headphones and vacuums.

Furthermore, the venue exemplifies thoughtful urban development. By celebrating the inherent value of the historic building, the flagship prioritises preservation over new construction while delivering a progressive contemporary retail experience.
