Spooler

Spooler’s delicately coloured surface and sculptural volume derive from a spun yarn, which combines cotton and polyester fibres wrapped by a fine metal thread.

The curtain’s variegated lines in subtly contrasting colours come from the injection dying technique: here the dye penetrates the fibres in tonal shades, ranging from white to full colour. As a result, Spooler offers an exceptionally lifelike yet puristic and fresh play of colour nuances.

  • LightFastness {{site.selectedConfiguration.lightFastness}}

    Lightfastness relates to the ability of a textile to retain its colour under light. When testing for lightfastness, samples are exposed to artificial daylight for a specified period.

    The evaluation scale ranges from 1 (worst) to 8 (best). An increase of one point corresponds to a doubling of the lightfastness, i.e. the same fading takes twice as long.

  • Absorption Blank (Absorption flat) Blank (Absorption folded)

    Acoustic absorption is indicated as αw-value which approximately corresponds to the percentage of sound absorbed. For instance, an αw-value of 0,4 translates into 40% absorption of sound.  Acoustic absorption of a textile is measured in its flat and draped state.

Care instructions curtain textiles

Regular cleaning is important in order to keep the curtain textile looking its best and to prolong its life. Dust and dirt wear down the textile and also reduce its fire-retardant properties.

  • Regular care

    If possible, we recommend washing curtains once a year. If used heavily, a more frequent cleaning may be appropriate. All curtain fabrics by Kvadrat and Kinnasand are supplied bearing a maintenance label. We recommend the use of a light duty detergent without optical brighteners for all items in which, according to care instructions, washing is possible. In order to reduce the risk of allergy problems, we recommend to use washing detergents that do not contain optical bleach, perfume or colorants. Please take into account a possible shrinkage between 1 – 3 %. For more detailed information, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaner and/or laundry. A professional dry cleaner may also assist in working out maintenance schedules which ensure that the fabrics are maintained properly so that a good indoor climate and maximum duration of the curtains are achieved.
