Yusuke Kadomae is the Sales Director of Kvadrat in Japan. He has worked on launching the consumer market in Japan, with support from the global team.

"I see Kvadrat as a big tree. The trunk of the tree is the Danish DNA and the core values of Scandinavian design and innovation, and the branches of the tree grow from bringing in people from around the world."

Q: What defines Kvadrat as a workplace in your opinion?

Kvadrat to me is a very inspirational space, and I am inspired by the people and the products that I work with. Before I joined Kvadrat, I visited the Stockholm furniture fair in Sweden, and I was inspired by how Kvadrat worked with textiles in a different way. At Kvadrat we have a unique ecosystem where we work with many different designers and industries though textiles.

Q: How are you able to fulfil your potential at Kvadrat?

Kvadrat really cares about investing in people and considers people to be one of the most valuable resources of the company. They believe in the potential of their employees, and they try to foster these possibilities for growth. I experience that this makes me find my hidden potentials as a worker.

Q: How do you connect with your global/international colleagues?

Kvadrat understands that different cultures have different ways, and they never push one-way communication. One of our strengths as an international company is the close relationships we have on a global scale.

I speak with international colleagues almost everyday, and it brings so many different and creative solutions to problems and helps me think outside the box.

Q: What value does diversity bring to Kvadrat?

I see Kvadrat as a big tree. The trunk of the tree is the Danish DNA and core values of Scandinavian design and innovation, and the annual rings, and branches of the tree grow from bringing in people from around the world. Diversity brings strength to our organisation, and as time passes, the different cultures come together and form a big strong tree.

In terms of diversity and inclusion, we are not perfect, but the most important thing is that we are aware that it is still a long journey, and that we are growing and actively working towards being better.
