Happy Holidays from Kvadrat
This year we have commissioned Celia Pym, an artist working with knitting, darning and embroidery, to create a piece for us using Kvadrat yarn/colours – now is the time to rethink and find joy in old crafty traditions to preserve winter woollies.
Time for caring and restoration. Artist Celia Pym explores these two concepts in illuminating fashion. We are thrilled to use her work for our card this year. It draws attention to spots where garments and textiles wear thin – which curiously shed light on the wearer’s life, body, and how they move.
Celia Pym’s sensuous creations also investigate damage and the difficulties of mending other people’s clothes. Her tools are scissors, yarn, and a sharp needle. “Darning is small acts of care and paying attention”, she explains. An insight that sits elegantly with the warm nature of the festive break.
