Taking Design to New Heights
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Nanna Ditzel’s birth, Trapholt is presenting the captivating exhibition ‘Taking Design to New Heights’. This unprecedented and captivating display unfolds a world of ideas and inspirations that defined the work of one of the greatest Danish designers of the twentieth century. The comprehensive exhibition will encompass an extensive collection of her sensuous furniture design, textiles, jewelry and immersive installations. As they navigate through the exhibition we have supported, guests will be transported into the visionary realm of Nanna Ditzel, having the opportunity to explore her remarkable designs, among which her iconic Hallingdal 65 textile. Additionally, Sisu, Zulu, Campas 300, and a custom-made textile with Gunnar Aagaard Andersen print are featured throughout the exhibition.
Nanna Ditzel’s distinctive approach to design combined solid craftsmanship with an innate artistic and cultural flair. Propelled by curiosity, her approach allowed her to create unique, timeless and universal design icons. By presenting the designer’s body of work, ‘Taking Design to New Heights’ narrates the story of how individuals can express themselves and evolve by being in touch with the inspiration that art, culture, and nature can offer. In essence, visitors will embark on a journey through the legacy of Nanna Ditzel, celebrating a visionary designer whose work continues to inspire and shape the world of design.
