DESIGN DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP - SAHCO, COPENHAGEN

Are you a design student studying at design schools or technical universities and are you seeking an attractive internship that offers you the opportunity to learn more about the textile world?

Sahco is looking for a Design Development Intern to join the Design team in Copenhagen for the fall semester 2024. The internship will be for a minimum of 4 months and will begin in August.

In this position you will be an important person for the Sahco brand and work proactively to assist in developing curtain and upholstery textiles for the upcoming collection. As your daily work will include a variety of assignments you will need to accommodate varying departments at the office and coordinate multiple projects and tasks.

Your tasks will include but not be limited to:

• Support design team on seasonal tasks
• Assist in development of artworks for the collection
• Organise and maintain current collection samples
• Cutting and organizing samples
• Update textile archive
• Update digital overviews
• Assist with colourcards and samples for testing
• Research related to competitors, artworks and seasonal inspiration
• Administrate freight and messaging service
• Office planning, present and handle logistics

Your Competencies

• Highly organized, proactive and adaptable
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and tasks
• Excellent team-worker
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
• Detail oriented
• Natural eye and interest in woven textiles
• Good understanding and feel for colours
• Excellent skills in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop as well as Excel
• Experience with digital artworks is preferred
• Undergoing an education in textile design or fashion design
• A proactive approach to problem solving and ability to work independently
