Kvadrat acquires Verosol and launches a new business entity Kvadrat Shade in collaboration with global window coverings specialist Coulisse
Best in class window covering solutions for a global audience
The global leading manufacturer of high performance design textiles, Kvadrat and worldwide window coverings specialist Coulisse, join forces in Kvadrat Shade. The collaboration, which is official per 7 February 2019, aims to bring window covering solutions and services of unparalleled design and quality to architects worldwide, offering the best possible solution in terms of functionality, comfort and sustainability. At the same time Kvadrat announces it has acquired Verosol, the world’s leading supplier and inventor of high performance aluminium backed textiles, with the aim to strengthen its position in the roller blind segment. The launch of the first Kvadrat Shade collection will take place during 3 Days of Design 23 – 25 May 2019 and will include a range of roller blinds designed in collaboration with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
Kvadrat Shade: two design icons join forces
In Kvadrat Shade the unique strengths of two design icons in their own field come together. Thought leader in textile innovation, colour and creativity, Kvadrat has over 50 years of experience in developing high-performance design textiles for both commercial spaces and private homes and has a strong standing in the architect & designer community. Coulisse has extensive experience in the development of window covering systems, fabrics and motorization for both the residential and the commercial market and is known world-wide for its innovative design approach. By joining forces, Kvadrat Shade will be able to service even the largest and most challenging projects with solutions and services of the highest quality the window coverings market has to offer. Available through the worldwide service network of Kvadrat, Kvadrat Shade will offer a to z support allowing for optimal service all over the globe.
Solutions for even the largest, cross-boundary projects Kvadrat Shade will be led by Managing Director Christian Baum Blaakær and Sales Director Jan-Henk Dekker. Kvadrat Shade X Bouroullec
The first Kvadrat Shade collection is designed in collaboration with designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and will be pre-launched in Copenhagen during 3 Days of Design 23 – 25 May 2019. The collection stands out for its design aesthetics and offers both manually operated and motorized roller blind systems. It will include a range of highly sustainable performance textiles which are PVC free and comply with the highest standards on safety, sustainability and health standards. The collection will be available exclusively through the 35 Kvadrat sales offices worldwide and will offer a solution for any window covering requirement in any given situation, both from a design and a functional perspective.
Kvadrat acquires Verosol: creating an unparalled product offering of high-performance textiles
With the takeover of Verosol, Kvadrat is creating a strong foothold in the market of high-performance textiles. Verosol, is the global specialist in design and manufacturing of functional indoor solar shading fabrics and blinds. Founded in 1965 in Eibergen in The Netherlands, Verosol is the inventor of metallised textiles and pleated blinds. Its innovative products offer the highest performance in heat and daylight control, while maintaining the outside view, this to create a more sustainable building environment.
