Hand-knotted rugs

Handwoven rugs

Handwoven rugs are defined by a strong, grounded expression that feels both versatile and enduring. Their flat, structured surfaces create a refined and architectural look, making them especially well-suited to a wide range of spaces: from private residences to contract environments. Handwoven rugs are constructed on a loom through the interlacing of warp and weft yarns. The warp threads run lengthwise and provide structural stability, while the weft threads are inserted crosswise to form the surface and design. Different weaving structures, such as plain weave, kilim, or sumak, as well as variations in yarn materials, thicknesses, and densities, allow for a wide range of textures, weights, and visual expressions. As this technique is carried out manually, subtle irregularities in tension, colour, and surface are inherent, reflecting the handmade nature and individuality of each rug.

Tufted rugs

Defined by their strong sense of materiality and generous surface expression, tufted rugs are rich in volume and tactility. These rugs showcase a wide range of yarn textures and combinations, creating a soft, inviting and distinctly luxurious experience. The dense pile allows for bold colour fields, sculptural effects and playful contrasts in texture, making tufted rugs especially effective in spaces where comfort and visual impact go hand in hand.

Tufting is a technique in which yarn is pushed through a tightly stretched fabric using a tufting gun, either by hand or with an automated machine. The yarn forms loops or cut fibres on the surface, resulting in a soft, dense pile. After tufting, the back of the rug is coated with latex to secure the yarn, a backing is applied, and the surface is carefully trimmed and finished. This process enables rich surface textures through the combination of different yarn types and varying pile heights, creating a distinctly luxurious and tactile expression.
