Soft Cells panels by Kvadrat Acoustics are installed on the walls in the large meeting hall at the Danish Ministry of Church Affairs. The hall is in a protected building, and it was important that the interior design matched the historic feeling and atmosphere that is penetrating the rooms.

Due to the existing skirtings and panellings, it was required that the depth of the acoustic panels was limited to 33 mm.

Solution
With the integration of 33 specially developed slim Soft Cells Broadline panels, it was possible to provide a solution where the panels perfectly flush with the beautiful wooden details.

"When HCM Architects were given the task to renovate The Ministry of Church Affairs’ large meeting hall, the brief was very clear – The acoustics in the room had to be improved. The hall is protected and is classically built with wall openings that are thought to previously contain gobelins, as well as a simple, but beautifully decorated ceiling. With the intention of creating ’modern gobelins’, Soft Cells panels were installed in the openings, and they support the room’s architecture down to the last detail. The acoustic has been significantly improved, and the meeting hall can now be used for its purpose."
