The benefits of metallised roller blinds

Large windows, a typical feature of contemporary architecture, can reduce thermal and visual comfort. On sunny days the sun will cause glare on screens and heats up the interior considerably. With our collection of metallised roller blind textiles, you can fight the light and beat the heat, creating a comforable indoor climate.

How do metallised textiles work?

Metallised textiles incorporate an aluminium nano-layer on the outside of the fabric that improves the performance of window coverings in four key areas: glare control, thermal regulation, view through and insulation.

The aluminium layer filters sunlight through small pores while blocking diffuse light, providing effective glare control. It also reflects most of the sun's energy back outside, preventing heat build-up inside. The woven structure allows precise control of the pore size and distribution, providing a clear view without glare. In addition, the aluminium layer acts as a thermal barrier, keeping warmth inside in winter and maintaining a cooler interior in summer.

Thermal comfort

Our metallised textiles support a comfortable indoor temperature with a reduced need for heating and cooling. The highly reflective aluminium backing of our metallised textiles significantly reduces heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, creating the optimal indoor climate.

Visual comfort

To keep harsh sunlight and heat out during summer, you need to lower the window blinds. Conventional white coloured blinds cause glare, dark coloured blinds warm up your interior, and block-out blinds obstruct the view.

Kvadrat's collection of metallised textiles offers unrivalled visual comfort inside your building. Enjoy the benefits of daytime privacy without compromising the view outside. Our metallised textiles eliminate heat and glare issues in buildings, maximising the value of space by making areas close to windows usable.
