Apo X is our first patterned metallised roller blind textile developed in collaboration with Erwan Bouroullec. Rooted in architectural language, it references the structural rhythm of vertical and horizontal lines found in façades, windows, and frameworks – translating these into a composed textile surface suitable for contemporary interior projects. The design is offered in two distinct line configurations, each exploring variations in density and rhythm. These patterns are carefully calibrated to introduce a sense of spatial order while remaining visually discreet.
Apo X is engineered to meet the practical needs of architectural environments. It supports daylight control, maintains outward visibility, and contributes to acoustic comfort. The metallised backing enhances solar reflection, reducing heat gain and improving visual comfort. Apo X is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze, aligning with Kvadrat’s ongoing focus on responsible material solutions.
Apo X offers a balanced response to architectural and interior requirements – combining technical functionality with a restrained visual identity that complements a wide range of applications.
Alignment of the patterns
When multiple blinds are installed side by side, the horizontal lines may not align perfectly when the blinds lowered, resulting in a visually irregular appearance. These shifts are an intentional design feature, adding depth, movement and character to the patterns. Rather than striving for perfect alignment, the patterns embrace an organic aesthetic. It is this quality that defines its unique visual identity.
