Smartphone textile case: Revive

Upcycling for good | Samsung

Samsung has introduced a phone case for the flagship Galaxy S20+ smartphone, created from the sustainably designed Kvadrat textile Revive. The “Samsung Global Goals edition” case is the first to be made of recycled materials by a major brand in the mobile industry.

Revive is produced from upcycled plastic bottles, which helps to reduce the amount of PET bottles in landfill. The yarn for the textile is formed in a process that preserves non-renewable energy resources. One end-of-life plastic bottle provides enough material to produce two cases.

In 2019, Samsung announced a partnership with the UN Development Programme to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (also known as the Global Goals). In line with this, a portion of revenue from sales of the Revive case will be donated to UNDP.
