No, you should not be worried to touch textiles surfaces. Studies show that the most important thing to do is to wash your hands. If you have touched a textile surface with your hand, just make sure not to touch your face before you have washed your hands.

No, the virus causing COVID-19 can only spread if it can find a good host. A textile surface cannot be a host.
How long does the virus live on a textile surface?
Studies have not shown (so far) that the virus causing Covid-19 lives longer on a textile surface than on other materials.
How can I kill the virus?
The virus causing COVID-19 is an enveloped virus with a fatty outer layer. Therefore it can easily be killed and deactivated by regular surface disinfectants that you can find at your local grocery store.
If I have disinfected my hands with an ethanol-based hand sanitizer and then touch a Kvadrat fabric, can that damage the fabric somehow?
No, you should not be worried. Common hand sanitizers contain less ethanol than a surface disinfectant so therefore you will not damage the textile.

What kind of sanitizer should I use?
There are many ready-to-use ethonol alcohol and bleach based sanitizer sprays and agents available on the market which can be bought in your local drugstore and chemist.
How do I apply a sanitizer on textile?
Follow the instructions on the label of the solution you have purchased. When using a concentrated sanitizer, make sure you create the right mix solution : water following our guidelines.
Can I use a spray sanitizer or should I apply using a cloth?
Both spray sanitizers as well as solutions that need to be applied by cloth can be used. When a cloth is used wet the cloth as you normally wet a cloth for wiping surfaces. Do not oversaturate the fabric. It shall only be lightly wet. Let the fabric dry before use.
How long does the textile need to dry?
Polyester and Trevira CS textiles can by wiped off and will dry in a few minutes.
Woollen textiles can also be wiped off or sprayed. Drying time depends on the situation (room temperature and humidity and the amount of sanitizer that has been applied).
Can I use a steam cleaner?
A steam cleaner can be used for disinfecting.
We do not recommend them for cleaning dirt from textiles as the steam will force dirt deeper into the textile and will move up to the surface later.
Can I use bleach disinfectants to clean Kvadrat textiles?

Yes you can use bleach disinfectants on your Polyester and Trevira CS fabrics without damaging the textiles or changing its colour. Concentration 5% bleach, 1:10 ratio.
Wool
Avoid bleach disinfectants for wool fabrics.
In what degrees can I wash my Kvadrat fabrics?
Polyester and Trevira CS
Can be washed 60-80 degrees C. Be aware of increased shrinking and creasing the higher the temperature.
Wool
Wool fabrics cannot be washed.
Make sure your fabric is clean before you disinfect it.
Make sure to keep your fabrics as dry as possible, both during use and after eventual washing.
