Curated by Constance Rubini

Portuguese designer Miguel Vieira Baptista had this idea for a piece of furniture in mind for some time before the opportunity arose with the Hallingdal project to finally bring it to life. ‘A few years ago I visited Kvadrat’s showroom in Milan with all the fabric samples hung and lined up,’ he says. ‘It came to my mind then to use fabric as a constructive material for furniture’.

The cupboard is designed from the inside out. The exterior clearly reveals the wooden construction within, leaving a clean and free inside space for loose drawers. The contents of the cupboard, meanwhile are protected and hidden behind four coloured squares of fabric hung from the structure.
