The GIE AXA Headquarters brings together three existing buildings into a unified workplace in central Paris. A glazed roof over the atrium introduces daylight and visual connection across levels. At the same time, extensive glass surfaces create strong reverberation. Kvadrat Acoustics Soft Cells ensures that openness is matched with acoustic comfort.
Our Soft Cells panels are installed along the atrium façade. Upholstered in Casa, they absorb sound reflections from the glass roof and surrounding hard materials, reducing echo and supporting clear speech across levels. Precisely detailed to follow the existing staircase, the panels integrate seamlessly with architectural geometry.
Ceiling-mounted Soft Cells in meeting rooms, the auditorium and the business centre further reduce reverberation and improve speech intelligibility. These spaces require controlled acoustics for presentations, dialogue, and focused work. The textile surfaces create balanced sound conditions while maintaining a coherent visual expression throughout the headquarters.
By combining transparency with Soft Cells panels, the project demonstrates how acoustic design can support clarity, comfort, and collaboration in contemporary workplaces. In 2025, the project received the Best of Year Award (Large Corporate Office category) from Interior Design magazine.
