The LEGO Group's award-winning new US headquarters in Boston marks the latest step in the company's global strategy to create world-class workplaces that attract top talent. The space, characterised by playful touches that evoke the firm's iconic building bricks, integrates a Kvadrat Acoustics solution and diverse Kvadrat upholsteries and curtains.

The Kvadrat Acoustic solution exemplifies how the interior has been put together with design, innovation and wellbeing in mind. It seamlessly integrates building services and contributes towards aural and visual comfort, healthy working conditions, and productive collaboration.

In the ceilings of the large and small circular meeting rooms, Soft Cells Broadline panels are specified to meet the specific acoustic challenges inherent to circular spaces, which are pronounced in the intimate ‘pod’ rooms.

Upholstered in Memory 2, Field 2, and Relate the Soft Cells panels are in a custom design that recalls the connectors on the company's famous bricks. To achieve this playful look and a flawless fit, they had to be curved and then split.

A room divider made from Twilight is used to wrap around a circular space in an open office to create zoning areas for concentration. In addition, curtains woven from Punkto in front of the glass walls in meeting rooms provide a further degree of privacy.

Tracks by Kvadrat Acoustics are installed on walls throughout the headquarters. Constructed on-site to be extra narrow and prevent warping, they are upholstered with Memory 2 and Sport.

The textiles for the Soft Cells acoustic panels on the ceilings and Tracks on the walls are carefully calibrated to match in colour. Importantly, they also all meet the stringent fire code regulatory requirements for the Boston area.

Like the firm's bricks that click together, Kvadrat curtains and upholsteries at the office create a visual and textural harmony with the Tracks and Soft Cells. At the same time, they introduce a scale of colours associated with the LEGO Group brand.

In a botanical-themed space, a modular couch comprising pebble-like forms combines elements upholstered with Sprinkles, Arda, and Gentle 2 by Kvadrat Febrik. Elsewhere, in an open office area, Remix 3 and Atlas are used on soft pink sofas, while Hallingdal 65, in red notes, is also specified on different sofas.

The headquarters has been recognised with LEED and WELL Gold certification. It covers 100,000 square feet over five floors, offering both collaborative spaces and "concentrative work zones."
