Versatile applications

Knitted textiles are suitable for a wide range of applications, including verticals. Their stretchability allows for a seamless expression with minimal lines of stitching and cuts, making them perfect for organic shapes. Beyond upholstery and vertical applications, they’re suitable for headboards, throws, runners, pillows, accessories, and electronic devices.

Inherent stretch 

Our knitted textiles are formed with interconnected loops that stretch in all directions. Consequently, they quickly regain their original shape upon release of pressure. ​The inherent stretch of knitted textiles allows for faster processing. As the knitted textile moulds and corrects during upholstery, production costs are minimised.

Distinctive textures 

Our knitted textiles offer a unique 3D expression with a comfortable touch. Their distinctive texture is due to the knitting technique, as the arrangement of knitting loops creates a rich, voluminous and incredibly comfortable surface. Acoustic value 

Heavy, padded knitted textiles offer good sound absorption properties while flatter textiles are better when acoustic transparency is needed. ​Reflecting this, our knitted textiles offer a compelling combination of aesthetic and acoustic performance for vertical applications.

Durable

Our collection of knitted textiles excels in durability, making them well-suited for contract use. This is attributed to their production through a specialised spinning process, providing the robust functional benefits inherent in wool.​ The top layers of knitted textiles primarily consist of wool compounds. Wool offers all the benefits of using natural fibres, such as hard-wearing, dirt repellent, flame retardant and very soft.

Sustainable

We constantly explore how we can lower the impact of our product development processes, by focusing on more energy-efficient methods and raw materials. For instance, to reduce our consumption of resources, water (including rainwater) is reused during the production of our knitted textiles.

Rumor

Rumor is a knitted upholstery by Bertjan Pot. Its design bridges the contrasting worlds of handcrafted textiles and the digital space to create landscapes of shifting colour and pattern intensity. It is the first knitted textile from Kvadrat Febrik made from more than 70% post-consumer recycled polyester, which creates its distinctive volume.​

Suunta

Suunta is a knitted upholstery that offers colourways and tactile textures inspired by the rows of blooms in Dutch flower fields. It is designed by Studio Truly Truly.​ The ribbed construction of Suunta – Finnish for ‘direction’–unites single lines of wool and recycled polyester of different hues in a knitted jacquard stitch.

Arda

Arda is a knitted upholstery textile which recreates complex natural forms, structures, surfaces, and colours found deep in the wild. It is part of a design project entitled "Design by Nature" led by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren from the Swedish design studio Front.
