Serpentine Gallery Pavilion by Jean Nouvel
London, 2010
In 2010 the ‘Serpentine Gallery Pavilion’ was designed by respected architect Jean Nouvel for an exhibition celebrating the gallery’s 40th anniversary. Characterised by bold geometric forms, the installation combined lightweight materials and heavy metal structures to create an intriguing play of opposites.
In keeping with the theme of contradictions, the Pavilion featured 220m of the Kvadrat textile Blitz in a vivid shade of red. This created a startling, beautiful, contrast with the natural surroundings of the park.
