Knit Together – Malmö Upcycling Service (Sweden)

Malmö Upcycling Service (MUS) is a design collective established in 2013 to take a more sustainable approach to the sourcing of materials. Knit Together is a room divider made from thick ribbons of blue Razzle Dazzle textiles connecting Really Solid Textile Boards – a solid sheet material made from compressing end-of-life textiles. In keeping with MUS’s philosophy, the divider used only second-choice textiles from the Kvadrat Febrik knitted textiles collection. The Really boards, which lend rigidity to Knit Together, are custom-made from densely compressed knitted fabrics.

M.U.S

Malmö Upcycling Service (M.U.S) is a Sweden-based design studio that inspires and challenges practitioners to work more sustainably. Through exploring the potential of the waste products of local industries, team members Julia Knutas, Anna Gudmundsdottir, Sonja Signäs, Maja Lindh, Oskar Olsson, Hanna Säll and Matilda Ulvbielke enable their projects to tell unique stories. Their approach is shaped by the features of the raw material, which guide the whole design process.
