Florian Hecker, art exhibition
Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, Germany
Across the two exhibition halls housing Hecker’s installation, 143 square-metre Soft Cells Broadline panels cover the tall walls to create a textured, yet uniform surface. The acoustic effect of the panels is just as important to the work as it contributes to the play between the sound system and the sound-absorbing and sound-directing walls.
The Preis der Nationalgalerie recognises emerging young talents in International art. Being shortlisted for this year's prize is a recognition of Hecker's artistic endeavour and contribution, as more than 150 directors and curators active in contemporary art were invited to name a candidate for the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2015.
