Sofa and Soft Cells acoustic panels on walls and ceilings upholstered in Steelcut Trio 3. Meeting room curtain crafted from Melu Acoustic
High Society Heartbeat
The Asia headquarters of Tatler, a luxury media company, integrates Kvadrat Acoustics solution, Kvadrat upholstery and acoustic curtain textiles. Completed by COLLECTIVE, an international architecture studio, the new Tatler Asia Headquarters is located in the formerly industrial Wong Chuk Hang neighbourhood on Hong Kong Island.
Kvadrat Acoustics solution is used to minimise noise and facilitate collaboration in various location of the office. It comprises of Soft Cells acoustic panels covered with Steelcut Trio 3, specified in two different shades.
In the meeting rooms, Soft Cells acoustic panels installed on the ceilings are paired with curtains crafted from Kvadrat textile Melu Acoustic. Meanwhile, inside the sound-proof booths, Soft Cells are installed on both ceilings and walls to ensure acoustic privacy.
Betty Ng, founder and director, COLLECTIVE: “In Tatler’s case, due to the nature of their journalistic work, the requirement for spontaneous instrumental encounters and creating a feeling of openness was equally paramount as private workspaces and quiet meeting rooms.”
In the multifunctional garden area that works as a meeting, dining area, and event space, a 20-metre bench is upholstered in Steelcut Trio. This statement furniture piece winds around a living garden in an undulating form to create seating alcoves.
The Kvadrat textiles at Tatler’s headquarters are in grey and blue nuances that resonate with the sea, sky, and verdant greenery of nearby Bennett’s Hill. They reflect the concept for the interior palette, which is designed to create an aesthetic contrast with the natural surroundings outside and the reflective aluminium elements inside.
