Environmental Product Declarations for our shading solutions

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) support many of our roller blind textiles and our Minimal roller blind system, providing verified life-cycle data for our shading solutions.

By documenting environmental impact across the life cycle of our products, EPDs support transparent specification and help architects, designers and procurement teams make informed decisions based on reliable data.

What is an Environmental Product Declaration?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified and standardised declaration of a product’s environmental impact across its entire life cycle – from raw material extraction and production to use and end of life.

Based on detailed life-cycle assessments (LCAs), EPDs translate complex environmental data into clear, objective and comparable information. This supports sustainable design, responsible procurement and transparent documentation in building projects.

All our EPDs are developed in accordance with the EN 15804+A2 standard and verified by independent third parties, ensuring credibility and comparability within the same product category.

Expanding EPD coverage across our portfolio

We continuously expand EPD coverage across our most specified roller blind textiles and shading systems.

Our newest textile developments – Graphite, Apo X, Retta, Retta Blockout, Unlit Blockout and Ferrite – are supported by Environmental Product Declarations, while several existing textile EPDs have been renewed to ensure the underlying environmental data remains current and robust.

An EPD is also available for our Minimal roller blind hardware. This extends verified life-cycle data beyond textiles and supports transparent specification of complete shading solutions.

Supporting specification and documentation

EPDs can be used in project specifications, procurement documentation and sustainability reporting. By providing quantified environmental data, they support building certifications and responsible material selection in architectural projects.

The environmental data from our EPDs is also integrated into Kvadrat Shade’s Carbon Neutrality Tool and Tender Spec Generator. The Carbon Neutrality Tool enables accurate calculation and documentation of the carbon impact of shading solutions. In parallel, the Tender Spec Generator allows architects and specifiers to create a project-ready product specification in under a minute.
