Servitudes by Jesper Just
Paris, 2015
Installation artist Jesper Just’s solo exhibition, Servitudes, was shown at Paris’s Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The show included 230 metres of Kvadrat’s Zulu curtain textile as both screens and room dividing curtains. Servitudes consists of multiple videos, music and a spatial intervention.
In his film work, Jesper Just links exceptional images to sound and music. The music is a moving force behind the installation, guiding the film's characters and the spectators as they progress through the exhibition. The film’s setting, the iconic and controversial One World Trade Center, becomes a character itself, indicative of absence and loss, and a testament to resilience.
