Helene Vonsild was a leading visual merchandiser before she trained to become a textile designer at Denmark’s Kunsthåndværkerskole. An innate understanding of space and atmosphere remains an important aspect of her work. She is inspired by the relationship between 'the loose' and 'the tight' - as such, her textiles frequently explore the connection between the closely woven and the transparent.
Vonsild translates architectural lines and compositions into her weaving. Consequently, she places much focus on the interrelationship of threads and the composition of her designs.
