Gemeentehuis Montferland

Exclusively Kvadrat upholstery and curtain textiles are used throughout the Gemeentehuis (town hall) responsible for Montferland municipality in the Netherlands.

The new town hall was built in front of the original building. This was done in order to create a more accessible and transparent public space, and facilitate the delivery of better, more modern public services. On the first floor, there are spaces dedicated to informal contact, interaction and deliberation. An administrative zone is on the second floor of the building.

De Twee Snoeken architects based their choice of textiles on two main goals. Firstly, to deliver a light, open and inviting atmosphere in the area with public access. Secondly, to provide an inspiring and sustainable workplace for the municipality’s civil servants and executive board.

ScubaDivina MD and Divina Melange are used in the staff restaurant to create a relaxed, contemporary feel. Hallingdal and Remix are utilised on the first floor. The seats in the administrative zone are upholstered
with RemixTonus and Steelcut Trio. Willow, in predominantly light shades, adorns the seats in the public hall. The curtains are made from Air and Dawn.
