Freelance Draftsperson with on-site project management experience, Milan

Are you a skilled drafter with on-site project management experience, and do you want to join a global design company that is growing rapidly, and furthering your career in an international environment?

We are looking for a freelance drafter to support our Global Design and local Italian teams. The position will be based in the Milan area, Italy.

This is an opportunity to assist in design work and drawing set production together with on-site delivery for high-end interior projects. This role involves production of shop drawings (plans, sections, elevations, detail views), review, revisions, and handover. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, with proficiency in AutoCAD, and potentially Revit software, together with relevant project management experience.

About the job
The role aims to ensure efficient execution and adherence to Kvadrat Acoustics design standards while working collaboratively with the Kvadrat Acoustics team for project briefing and task distribution. You will be producing detailed project-specific shop drawings and participating in team reviews and undertaking revisions as required, whilst also liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are delivered and installed to schedule. You will also be ensuring timely handover of final design documents.

You would be working closely with the local Italian Acoustics Team, consisting of Sales and Customer Service Specialists and the Global Project Management and Design Team.
The Global Team is made up of experienced project managers, architects and designers, working from Copenhagen and around the Globe, and supported by a network of freelancers.
Our mission is to deliver bespoke acoustic solutions that align perfectly with our clients' needs and design aspirations.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in drafting, architecture, or engineering
• Experience in design and construction industry office.
• Proficiency in English and Italian
• Strong technical drawing and drafting skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency AutoCAD
• Experience in Revit and Rhino (advantageous)
• Experience of managing/liaising onsite works with architects and contractors
• Knowledge of architectural and construction terminology, standards, and best practices
• Knowledge of project finance and delivery
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus
• Ability to work with deadlines, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with international teams
