Kvadrat Really's Textile Tabletop™ and Textile Board

In 2024, Sweco Norway opened its new headquarters, Veksthuset, in Oslo’s Grønland district. Designed in collaboration with interior architect House of Krohn, the workspace reflects Sweco’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. As part of the interior, Kvadrat Really’s Textile Tabletop™, and Textile Board made from 70% textile waste and 30% waste binder, was used across workstations and shared areas as a high-performance, circular alternative to conventional surface materials.

Material choices throughout the building were guided by durability, functionality, and environmental impact. By implementing Textile Tabletop™ and Textile Board, the project contributed to a lower carbon footprint, reducing emissions by an estimated 30% compared to conventional materials. With its distinctive look and recycled composition, the two circular solutions contribute to both the aesthetic and sustainable identity of the space.

“We are very proud of our collaboration with Kvadrat Really in the development of our new head office. Their innovative and sustainable products have helped to create an inspiring working environment. Together we have focussed on finding the best solutions at all times, resulting in an outcome that is not only functional, but also promotes environmental awareness and creativity in everyday life.” Vivi-Ann Conradi, Workplace, Facility & Procurement Manager at Sweco.

Set in one of Oslo’s most diverse neighbourhoods, the office also plays an active role in the local community. Through initiatives focused on youth engagement and partnerships with social organisations, the building extends its impact beyond the workplace.
