Q: What do you do at Kvadrat?
I am part of the sales team in the architecture and end-user segment, alongside two colleagues in Paris. My role involves visiting architecture firms handling significant projects like hotels, offices, restaurants, and cultural institutions. I keep them informed about our current and upcoming textiles, understand their creative needs, and guide them in specifying our textiles in their projects. Additionally, I manage projects from conception to delivery, overseeing everything from samples to the final result.
Q: How and when did you start your career at Kvadrat?
After graduating, I worked in hospitality for two years before joining Kvadrat in 2019. My interest in decoration and interior design led me to seek a more architectural position, and Kvadrat provided the perfect opportunity. I have been with the company for four and a half years now.
Q: What defines Kvadrat as a workplace in your opinion?
Kvadrat is a large and multicultural company that has grown significantly while maintaining a family-like atmosphere. Despite its size, we stay connected through various tools and academies. The company emphasises a commitment to design and creativity, fostering a shared spirit among employees. It's a healthy workplace with a strong sense of community and teamwork.
Q: What sparks joy for you in your work?
I find joy in the passion I have for colours and human relationships. Working with magnificent textiles and engaging with architects on projects is fulfilling. The confidence in our high-quality products adds to the joy, especially when handling significant projects. At the same time, we are also aware when there is a big cultural project in the works, such as when we worked on the Pinault Collection or the opera house, or when there is a nice hotel opening. It gives me this feeling of being behind the scenes before the theatre opens.
Q: How do you think of Kvadrat as an inclusive company?
I believe the company treats everyone equally; the primary focus is on our shared values. As long as you possess a positive attitude and align with our values, the opportunities are endless. Regarding diversity, in Paris, 80% of our team is women, which I think is positive.
Q: What is your favourite Kvadrat product?
It is difficult to pick one, given the array of beautiful products. However, Vidar by Raf Simons stands out for its elegant weave and colours. I love envisioning it as a curtain, creating a very beautiful drape. Given my love for bright colours, I also like the new Steelcut Quartet and Steelcut 3 collections, especially because of the opportunity to combine colours between the two. I admire Giulio Ridolfo’s work because, like me, he is genuinely passionate about colours.
