"You walk in to a department, ask a question, get feedback right away and solve an issue very efficiently. This very flat and community-based environment really helps when solving issues and helping the company grow and develop."

Q: What defines Kvadrat as a workplace in your opinion?

Kvadrat has a flat structure which helps speed up processes, and even though we are growing, we have a genuine and familiar way of interaction. You walk in to a department, ask a question, get feedback right away and solve an issue very efficiently. This very flat and community-based environment really helps when solving issues and helping the company grow and develop. As everything, of course, this comes with some downsides, but they don’t overrule the benefits, in my opinion.

Q: How are you able to fulfil your potential at Kvadrat?

I feel that I am growing a lot, especially after I started in the Business Analytics team. We started a department that didn’t exist before, and I learned business analytics from scratch.

Thanks to the trust and freedom I got from my manager, I can really fulfil my potential. Of course, I prioritise and perform my tasks according to what the business needs, but at the same time I can achieve it with total freedom. As long as you respect the values and priorities of the company and other people, you can focus on what catches your interest the most.

Q: What sparks joy for you in your work?

I really love to see people grow. We started a project in March called the Data Ambassador Program, where we asked people if they wanted to lead their team’s data transformation worldwide. At first, we were planning on recruiting 10-15 people, and now we have a team of 46 people. It is thrilling to see how these people are growing their skills and perspectives.

Tasks like these give me joy because it means that we are bringing value to the company, by giving people new tools, and allowing them to explore and obtain new skills.

Q: How does the Data Ambassador Program work?

In the Data Ambassador project, we have an ambassador from each department and geographically. We have people in Italy, Netherlands, Japan, US and more, and the program gives the participants the opportunity to interact, and communicate, across different countries.

In the data ambassador group, we can help each other solve problems, and use the same effective solutions across different departments. It is awesome to have feedback from so many different people, and then be able to find the common ground that works globally.
