Gnist brings Aker BP and Aker Solutions together in two new office buildings in Hinna Park, Stavanger. Designed for around 3,000 employees, the workplace combines areas for individual focus, collaboration and social activity. Throughout the interiors, Kvadrat textiles help translate the project’s approach to colour, material and light into different working environments.

Zinc developed the interior around principles of biophilic design, with the surrounding landscape of Gandsfjorden and the nearby mountains informing the colour concept. Muted earth tones define the East building, while warm greens characterise the West. Across both buildings, colours transition gradually from light to dark, creating variation while connecting the different spaces.

Curtains play a central role in this material approach. Daybreak, Maya and Time 300 introduce different levels of texture, transparency and colour across the interiors. Together with Kvadrat Shade roller blinds, they form layers at the windows that contribute to the character of each space while providing control over daylight.

Upholstery extends the textile palette into areas for work, meetings and social activity. Fiord 2, Remix 3, Re-wool 2 and Savanna bring colour and tactile variation to the furniture, helping different settings feel connected to the wider interior concept.

The textiles sit within a broader palette of wood, stone and other tactile surfaces. Kvadrat Really Textile Tabletop™ adds a solid surface to this material landscape and introduces a circular material alongside the softer textile applications.

Across Gnist, curtains, upholstery, roller blinds, tabletops and acoustic solutions work at different scales. The combination creates a coherent material language while allowing the two buildings to have distinct identities shaped by their individual colour palettes
